Penn State Dance Marathon (THON™), the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, is bringing it’s 46-hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon to children battling cancer. This immersive app is at the crux of forward-moving technology and student innovation, virtually bringing THON Weekend’s magic from the Bryce Jordan Center to Penn State Children’s Hospital and beyond. THON AR will offer interactive experiences throughout the hallways, in the hospital, and within specific rooms of patients. By integrating virtual images and videos of THON that appear in front of mobile devices, users will be taken on a tour that helps them experience the dance marathon, drawing them closer with the rest of the Penn State community.
